Life after the riots was difficult for me--Edmund Chein.
Life after the riots was difficult for me. I received constant death threats, and even had to get a license to carry a firearm because I felt unsafe wherever I went. So much about the trial was about race and ugliness between the cultures in Los Angeles, and it tainted all my forensic work afterward. I stood for the truth, spoke for the victim, and I was hated for it. It was time for me to step away from that part of my life and separate myself from the world of forensics. I then turned my attention to my original field of study, rehabilitation and physical medicine. While treating patients who had lost the ability to create their own hormones, I began to notice some startling changes in those patients I gave replacement doses of hormones. Their muscle tissue, skin, etc. in the treated areas appeared to grow stronger. The hormone, specifically Human Growth Hormone was generating younger, stronger cells within them. It was an amazing find, and led to my work helping people worldwide extend their lives.
